What you child needs to bring each week<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

  • Bathers or togs<\/li>
  • Their club cap (your club will provide or sell these)<\/li>
  • A high-visibility rash vest \u2014 this is mandatory for all Symal Nippers participating in water activities and competition events (hot pink is the standard for competitors; your club will advise)<\/li>
  • A long-sleeved rash top for sun protection<\/li>
  • A sun hat for when they\u2019re not in the water<\/li>
  • Sunscreen \u2014 SPF 50+ minimum, applied at least 15 minutes before the session<\/li>
  • A water bottle<\/li>
  • A towel<\/li><\/ul>

    For clubs north of Agnes Water (Gladstone region and above), a stinger suit is also required. Check with your club about any additional local uniform requirements.<\/p>

    What you should bring<\/strong><\/p>

    • Your own sun protection \u2014 hat, sunscreen, and a chair or shade if your club doesn\u2019t provide tents<\/li>
    • Water and snacks for after the session<\/li>
    • A positive attitude and a willingness to get involved (even just cheering from the beach helps)<\/li><\/ul>

      Signing up<\/strong><\/p>

      All children must be registered members of the surf lifesaving club before participating. SLSQ recommends that a parent joins alongside their child, though this varies by club. Contact your club for registration details and fees \u2014 each club sets its own fee structure. Your child will need to be registered before their first official session (though many clubs offer \u201cCome and Try\u201d days where you can experience Symal Nippers before committing).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
