Symal Nippers is one of the best things a kid can do on a Saturday morning, and we believe every child deserves the chance to be part of it. That’s exactly why clubs right across Queensland run dedicated inclusive Symal Nippers programs, often known as Albatross or Seahorse Nippers, built specifically for children with disability, including neurodivergent kids, and shaped around the way they learn, move and play best.
Every club puts its own spin on how the program runs, because every group of kids is different, but the heart of it is always the same. Your child sets the pace, not the clock. Activities are adapted so everyone can join in and feel genuinely good at it. There’s extra support on hand exactly where it’s needed. And above all, it’s a warm, welcoming patch of sand where your child gets to be part of a team, make friends, build confidence, and have an absolute ball in the process.
Clubs can also apply for an annual SLSA grant to help fund equipment for their inclusive program, so the right gear is there to make participation as smooth and fun as possible. Details are in the Members Portal document library for any club looking to make the most of it.
